Faith: Awakening and Rising

Faith is not about clinging to preserved doctrines.

It is about recognizing the small flame burning within me

and following its light.

It is not about simply believing the answers given by others,

but about not turning away from the feelings and questions

that are alive within me.

To do so,

sometimes I must break the familiar world I have known.

It is not about falling apart,

but about moving toward my true self.

I must awaken from the egg to take flight,

and only then can I truly be free.

Is this not what resurrection means?

알에서 깨어나 비상하는 신앙

신앙은 박제된 교리를 붙들고 있는 것이 아니라,

내 안에서 타오르고 있는 작은 촛불을 알아보고

그 불빛을 따라 살아가는 것이다.

남이 정해준 답을 그대로 믿는 것이 아니라

내 안에서 살아 움직이는 마음과 질문을

외면하지 않는 것이다.

그러기 위해서는

때로 내가 가진 익숙한 세계를 깨뜨려야 한다.

그것은 무너지는 것이 아니라

진짜 나에게로 나아가는 것이다.

알에서 깨어나야 비상할 수 있고,

비로소 자유로워진다.

그것이 부활이 아닌가.
