To bloom in our own time- that is enough. That is whole.

It’s Okay Not to Be Together

The leaves and flowers of the red spider lily

do not bloom at the same time.

They arrive in different seasons,

yet each shines brilliantly in its own time.

We don’t have to be together.

We don’t have to live through the same season.

We don’t have to bloom at the same time

to be beautiful.

To bloom in our own time—

that is enough.

That is whole.

석산은 잎과 꽃이 함께 피지 않는다.

서로 다른 계절에 피어나지만

각자의 자리에서 이렇게 찬란하다.

꼭 같이 있어야 하는 것도,

같은 시간을 살아야 하는 것도,

함께여야만 아름다운 것도 아니다.

각자의 때에 피어나는 것.

그것으로 온전하다.
